Beyond the Academics

School Families

Our Family Program is a cherished tradition that brings students together across grade levels and creates a strong sense of belonging within our school community. Each family consists of one student from every grade and is led by an eighth-grade student, with the support of a faculty advisor. Throughout the year, families gather monthly to participate in activities and service projects planned by the family leaders and advisors. These experiences encourage mentorship, leadership, collaboration, and meaningful friendships among students of all ages.

The program culminates in the annual Family Olympics, a fun-filled celebration of school spirit featuring a variety of games and friendly competitions, from three-legged races and bubble-blowing contests to tag and other team challenges. By connecting students across grades, the Family Program helps cultivate a caring, inclusive community where students learn to support one another, take responsibility for others, and develop relationships that last throughout their school years.

8th/Kindergarten Buddies

One of our most beloved traditions is the special partnership between our eighth-grade students and kindergarteners. Each kindergartener is paired with an eighth-grade buddy who serves as a mentor, role model, and friend throughout the school year. Buddies attend monthly school Masses together and share a variety of activities that help foster meaningful connections across grade levels.

In addition, each buddy pair is part of a School Family, an advisory group that includes students from every grade level. School Families meet monthly to participate in service-learning projects and community-building activities, providing students with opportunities to collaborate, lead, and serve others. Through these experiences, younger students feel welcomed and supported, while older students develop leadership skills, responsibility, and compassion.
