Extended Day Details
INTRODUCTION
The following is provided as general information for families using Extended Day. This information is considered important to your child’s safety as well as for the basic operation of the Extended Day program.
ENROLLMENT
An emergency information card is required to be on file. A copy of this card is available online in Forms. It is mandatory that this card be kept up-to-date and that the Extended Day program is notified in writing of any changes to your emergency contact information.
HOURS
Extended Day is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 – 8:00 a.m. (7:15 with advance request) and from 12:30/2:00 – 5:30 p.m. Extended Day follows the school calendar and will be closed all school holidays and vacations. Extended Day will be open for morning sessions only on the Friday before the Festival of Fun and the last day of school.
LATE PICK-UP
The Extended Day staff is employed until 5:30 p.m. Please respect the staff and closing time. A fee of $2.00 will be assessed for each minute after 5:30 p.m. for late pick-ups. Example: a 5:45 pick-up late charge would be $30.00. This fee will be added to your monthly bill. If you know you are going to be late, please phone 454-8667 ext. 15.
SIGN-IN / SIGN-OUT SHEET
A daily sign-in/sign-out sheet is used to record a student’s hourly attendance. It is your responsibility to sign your child out on this sheet. Extended Day staff will not be responsible for an incomplete sign-out time. A blank time space will automatically be billed to 5:30. If someone other than the parent is picking up, be sure that notification either by written note or email has been given to the Extended Day Director and that they are listed on the child’s emergency card. This includes play dates, or changes due to sports, etc. If an individual not known to the Extended Day staff is picking up your child, driver’s license identification must be presented. Please note, your designated pick-up person must be an adult.
BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL ATTENDANCE
Children who are dropped off before 7:50 a.m. and those still remaining on the school grounds after 3:25 p.m. will be sent to Extended Day. There will be a charge for the time they are in Extended Day.
DROP-INS
Extended Day requires 24 hour notice for all drop-ins unless an emergency occurs. Notification is to be given to the Extended Day Director by email, kdaniels@stanselmschool.com. (Messages given to the front office or teachers do not always reach Extended Day.)
BILLING
Details of Extended Day’s billing system may be found on the web site.
At the first of each month, an Extended Day calendar for the following month will be sent via email. Parents will use this calendar to fill in, to the best of their ability, the days and hours, their child/children will attend Extended Day for the month. Completed calendars are to be returned to Extended Day or emailed to: kdaniels@stanselmschool.com. A reduced hourly rate of $9.00 per child is offered to those families returning completed calendars by their marked due date. Drop-ins are welcome and will be billed at a higher hourly rate of $11.00 per child.
