My favorite thing about teaching K-5th grade art is sharing my love of creativity and art making. It is so fun to introduce students to art materials and techniques that they may not discover on their own, or be allowed to use at home! I love watching them explore possibilities, make aesthetic decisions, and take pride in their artwork!

I enjoy teaching at St. Anselm School because the students are eager learners and many are quite enthusiastic about art. I have a folder full of student drawings and notes that declare “Art is my favorite subject!” Additionally, I am grateful for the assistance I get.

My favorite thing about the grade/subject I teach: Every day I have the chance to teach science to a wide range of ages in K-5 while collaborating with many different teachers. I teach children to love a subject I am passionate about as we do hands-on, creative and cooperative projects and experiments. This truly is my dream job. I have the chance to teach each child for six years! Over the years I watch each child grow, evolve and change. It is such a privilege to be a part of a healthy, loving community of people at St. Anselm and to know in my heart I am a part of the community growing and changing and getting stronger every year.

Spanish (K-5th) – Mrs. Elizabeth Geler
Hola! I would like to introduce myself as the k-5th Spanish teacher.

This will be my fourth year teaching Spanish at Saint Anselm School.

I am a native from Argentina, and I am very proud to teach my language and my culture. I lived in Brazil for sixteen years, where I learned Portuguese. Living in different countries and learning their languages, has given me a better understanding of the process of teaching a foreign language. I take advantage of my personal experience in order to implement my teaching methods. I graduated in Chemistry and I hold a doctorate in that field, but six years ago, I decided to change my career and became a teacher. Best decision of my life!

Librarian/1st-2nd Math | Mrs. Maria Kimball
The 2018-19 school year marks my 26th year as an educator for the Archdiocese of San Francisco. Throughout my career I have served as a teacher and administrator. It is a privilege and an honor to fill the role of Teacher-Librarian at St Anselm School.

I love books, schools, and all things learning. I received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Education from the University of San Francisco and a teaching credential from Dominican University. To better serve our students in my new position in the library, I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University. I relish the opportunity to expand my current experience as an educator and broaden the role and scope the Library currently serves in our school and curriculum.

Spanish (6th-8th) – Mr. William Ware
Bachelors of Art, Spanish, University of California, Berkeley
Juris Doctor, University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law

For me, teaching middle school Spanish at San Anselm School has been a thoroughly rewarding and professionally satisfying experience. The collegial and supportive environment at St. Anselm School is second to none. I am highly impressed by my dedicated and academically motivated students. Their commitment to academic success and their
desire tolearn motivate me as a teacher. As my students complete their tenure at St. Anselm School, I am in awe of their communicative abilities in Spanish at the novice level.
