September 2009
Dear St. Anselm Family,
Welcome back to another year of fundraising with the St. Anselm Scrip Program! Last year’s program was a huge success. Thanks for letting us shamelessly educate you all on this fantastic program! The Scrip program contributed over $40,000 to the operating budget without any of us having to spend an extra penny. With your efforts, we hope to raise even more money this year.
Each school family that has chosen the Scrip based tuition program is required to purchase $3,600 worth of goods through one or a combination of the Scrip programs described below. The $3,600 needs to be purchased by June 1, 2010 (you will get a letter in February to let you know if you are falling short).
For those families that chose the Scrip buyout tuition program, you can still contribute if you wish to without any minimum requirements. This is an easy way to contribute money to our school by shopping for things like groceries or gas that you would be buying anyways.
Below, the Scrip programs are summarized. It is easiest to meet or exceed the requirement by participating in more than one program.
eScrip– An electronic Scrip program. By registering your credit and debit cards, as well as your Safeway Club Card, donations are sent to our school when said cards are used at any of the participating merchants. Participating merchants are endless. Please visit the website listed below for a complete list, but some examples are Woodlands Market, Safeway, Mollie Stone’s, Andronico’s, Macy’s, Round Table Pizza, Lucky Drive Carwash, Shutterfly, etc.
New Enrollees – Simply log on to www.escrip.com and click “Sign- up”. It’s free! Our school ID is 137330990. You can also have grandparents and relatives sign up their cards and use our school ID to really boost the free money our school receives!
Returning eScrip Families that are currently contributing to another school– log on to www.escrip.com. Click on “my escrip” in the upper right corner. Enter your password. Go to Account Administration. Click on Group Selection – make sure St. Anselm is listed, or add it, or edit your current selection. You can contribute simultaneously to more than one school.
-Arrow back and go to Credit and Debit Cards. Edit or add and then click Update. Please look closely at the card expiration dates!
-Click on the Renew Safeway Red Check Mark before November 1st to continue receiving Safeway credit.
You will be responsible for monitoring your own eScrip account as we do not have any access to any of your personal information and cannot edit anything for you. You can manage your purchases and track your contributions to the school by using the eScrip website and your personal account password.
Merchant Gift Cards/Paper Scrip Sales– The following are several ways you can purchase gift cards or paper Scrip:
-Monthly Standing Orders for Gift Cards/Paper Scrip– Attached you will find a Monthly Scrip Standing Order Form. THE SCHOOL MAKES THE MOSTMONEY FROM THESE STANDING ORDERS. Please review it and consider receiving a standing order monthly that will come home in your child’s envelope. We all shop at most of the stores listed on the form, and this is the easiest way to make sure you are meeting your minimum purchase requirement. You can customize your order from any of the merchants listed, and there is no minimum or maximum order. You simply submit your payment and receive your Scrip through the weekly school envelope once a month. If you wish to participate, please fill out the enclosed form, staple a check to it for yourfirst order, and return in your child’s folder. A payment/delivery schedule will follow along with your first Scrip order.
-In the office – paper Scrip is always available in the office from Sue or Denise. There is usually a wide variety depending how stocked we are at the time.
-Special Order – You can always fill out the order form which is available inside the office and place a special order. Payment is required in advance, and please allow up to 2 weeks for the special order to come in. Feel free to call or email us if you are interested in something that is not listed on the form. We will also put out a special Holiday order form in November and a Back to School uniform and supplies order form at the end of the year.
-Scrip Sales – We know many parents use the carpool pickup and drop off lanes, so we will be occasionally cruising the sidewalk with paper Scrip available for purchase.
United Market– United Market generously offers a Scrip Card. The program is only available while you have children currently enrolled in the school. Just present the card to the cashier at the checkout stand when you are paying, and 3% of your purchases are given back to our school.
New Families or families without United cards- please fill out the attached form and a card will be distributed to you through your child’s envelope.
We’d like to emphasize that our school makes significantly more money through the Gift Card/Paper Scrip Program because it provides more than twice the percentage given back to the school than through eScrip. Please take a minute to review the attached Monthly Standing Order Form and consider making the choice to donate a percentage of your shopping to our school at no extra cost to you. Listed on the form are retailers that our families frequent and could earn free money for our school. If we can get at least half of our school families to participate in the paper Scrip program to some extent, we think we would be able to almost double our goal.
Please feel free to phone or email us anytime. Thanks in advance for your support. Welcome or welcome back to our wonderful school community!
Sincerely,
Katie Driscoll Rebecca Bugas
