Spring is coming!
The second grade has been very busy since the New Year! In February we put on our 1st annual musical production “Character Matters.” The children had a wonderful time and received rave reviews from parents and students alike! What amazing talent in the second grade classroom!
We have also been preparing for our first school Mass. It will be on March 16th in honor of St. Patrick. The children have been learning songs, practicing readings, and preparing a beautiful psalm poster for the occasion. We can hardly wait!
The children have been immersed in Lenten activities that promote thoughtfulness, sharing, and caring for others. Naturally, this comes easy to them - second graders are filled with compassion! After spring break they will be practicing for their First Holy Communion. The children and their families have been waiting for this special day. It is truly the highlight of second grade!
We are just finishing up our Respect Life Essays. The top three essays will be entered in the 21st annual contest sponsored by the Archdiocese of San Francisco. Along with reading, math, spelling, English, social studies, science, art, computes, and PE the students in second grade are always engaged in fun and exciting learning opportunities!
